What is Panchakarma?
Panchakarma (पञ्चकर्म) is the cornerstone of Ayurvedic medicine — a
five-fold purification therapy that systematically cleanses the body of deep-rooted toxins
known as Ama, restoring the natural balance of the three doshas:
Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
Dating back over 5,000 years to the Vedic era, Panchakarma is not merely a treatment but a
complete science of renewal. Unlike symptomatic approaches, it addresses root causes by
eliminating accumulated toxins from tissues, channels (srotas), and cells of the
body.
The therapy comprises three phases: Purvakarma (preparatory procedures),
Pradhanakarma (main five procedures), and Paschatkarma
(post-treatment rejuvenation) — each precisely designed to guide the healing journey.
Practiced under the supervision of an experienced Ayurvedic physician, Panchakarma resets
the body's innate intelligence, promoting longevity, clarity of mind,
and profound vitality.
